Tiger Developments set for Glasgow 's £100m revamp scheme
Tiger
Developments announced on Friday that it plans to carry out
a £100 mln (EUR 147 mln) redevelopment project in Glasgow.
The company said it has purchased a 40,500 m2 site for the
project, which will include 358,000 sq ft (33,300 m2) of
office space, a 130-bed hotel and some retail space. The
site is currently home to several industrial buildings that
remained unused for over 15 years. The company bought the
site from a private investor for an undisclosed amount.
'Our
extensive plans will see the creation of a key business hub
in a growing area of the city, close to a major transport
interchange and the planned M74 extension,' said John
Nesbitt managing director of Tiger Developments. Mike
Buchan, director of Jones Lang LaSalle's Glasgow office, has
been appointed to market the site along with Sanders
Cartwright. Cooper Cromar Architects has been appointed to
undertake a master plan. An outline planning application is
due to be submitted before the end of the year.
Tiger
Developments is also redeveloping the former Morrison Street
Goods Yard in Haymarket, Edinburgh. The £200 mln plans for
the Edinburgh site include the creation of two hotels,
continental-style boulevard, retail space and 30,000 m2 of
office space. |
